CFTC Charges Virginia Resident Tracy Lee Thomas and His Firm, Cayman Islands-Based Marbury Advisors Inc., with Fraudulently Soliciting over $1.2 Million in a Commodity Futures Scheme

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed a civil enforcement action in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, charging Defendants Tracy Lee Thomas and Marbury Advisors Inc. with fraudulently soliciting over $1.2 million from customers by, among other things, misrepresenting that Defendants would invest in Treasury Bills on customers’ behalf, but instead used their funds to trade commodity futures.
